Twelve Week Challenge
Week Three – Vision
Personal Development and Self Discovery
It is week three of this twelve week challenge where I have invited you to join me on a journey of self discovery. Each week I will be sharing something from my journey and looking for you to share something with me. If you missed the initial blog and want to find out more you can read “Twelve Week Challenge” . It is a commitment that will give you a better understanding of yourself and a deeper feel for your inner artist. Remember that art is in everything you do. Art is anything and everything that brings creativity, love, and light into you. This week I wanted to let you have a look into how I make my vision a reality with positive affirmation, bullet journaling, and a law of attraction calendar.
Several years ago my husband gave me a book, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. To be honest it sat on my shelf for some time and when I finally picked it up it was a difficult read for me. I was still at a place in my life where reading was not enjoyable. I made it through 3/4 of the book and then watched the documentary on Netflix. Since then I have continued to dig into the idea of manifesting my own reality through positive affirmations and changing the way I think and the way I accept things that happen daily.
I was struggling with self esteem, struggling financially, struggling with my temper because I was overwhelmed and frustrated. All of this negativity was distracting me from things I needed to be grateful for, things I could be doing to have more and be more. The more I gave myself the more I started to realize what I was missing out on and more importantly I was realizing I was creating a life of misery and stress all based on how I was processing everyday stuff.
I was already using a bullet journal to keep myself, or my to do lists rather, in order and hold myself accountable for certain things so I decided to take it a step further. I needed some gratitude in my life. I had so much to be grateful for and was ignoring it on a daily basis. I needed to retreat and reflect. I needed to have a clear vision and be sure the universe knew what it was. Thoughts create reality, energy flows where attention goes, or as my dad used to say “what the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve”. Ever heard anyone say something like that? I believe it 100%! After seeing a difference just by taking my bullet journal to a new level I started my law of attraction calendar. My husband had already been doing one for some time and I was so inspired not only by his calendar but because I could see it working for him. Before starting my calendar I needed to create a space for myself, one that inspired me. I started with clearing out my office of everything that was not serving me in the space. Then I made a vision board. I hung up positive affirmations that were relevant to me and things I was struggling with at the time. Then I got myself a large desk calendar. I will admit it was hard at first to remember to take the time to do it but once I got started I quickly formed the habit and now it is like brushing my teeth.
Yes it takes time to take part in the calendar and in the bullet journal but we have to stop making excuses about how busy we are and start making excuses why we need to invest in ourselves. The more time you allow yourself for growth and attention the more inner peace you allow which in turn only gives you more energy and ability to give in other ways in your life. Maybe start with a vision board and a weekly gratitude commitment or maybe you just go for it 100%! Below are some resources for you that helped me get inspired.
Let go of your expectations and free your mind to the possibilities of what this journey can bring you. I hope you make time for yourself this week and I can’t wait to see a glimpse of your journey. Until next week. Eliminate your Doubt, Activate your Confidence, Create your Future!
